Banner — a graphic advertisement that can be static or animated. It contains a hyperlink leading to the advertiser's website or landing page.
Banner is the ideal format for branding campaigns focused on increasing brand awareness and loyalty, as well as for the rapid sale of impulse goods.
Banner requirements:
Title. Optional. Displayed only inside the Kadam system.
URL. The domain specified in the ad campaign settings must match the domain of the banner URL.
Images. Supported formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF. Maximum file size: up to 2 MB for JPG/PNG, up to 5 MB for GIF. The image dimensions must exactly match one of the supported banner sizes (see the list below).
Create a banner
In the system, you can create a standard banner or an HTML banner. A corresponding button is available in the campaign for each type.
If the campaign has no creatives yet, the "Add Banner" and "Add HTML Banner" buttons will be located in the center of the screen. If at least one creative has already been created, the buttons for adding new banners will be located in the upper-right corner.
When you click the button, a side menu will open on the right side of the screen, allowing you to set the URL of the future creative, as well as upload an image or, in the case of an HTML banner, upload an archive.
List of supported banner sizes:
120x600 | 160x600 | 200x200 | 240x400 |
250x250 | 300x50 | 300x100 | 300x250 |
300x300 | 300x600 | 320x50 | 320x100 |
336x280 | 360x640 | 468x60 | 480x320 |
500x200 | 580x400 | 728x90 |
|
The bid, start date, and ad material end date are also set here.
After completing the setup, click the "Create" button to save the creative. If you plan to immediately create another one, click the "Create and add more" button.
Adding an iframe banner
An iframe banner is a type of HTML banner in which the ad creative is loaded from an external URL or provided as a ready-made HTML snippet instead of being uploaded as a file. It is suitable for dynamic creatives from affiliate programs, webcam studios and ad networks that provide ready-made banner tags.
Three creative subtypes are supported for HTML banners:
HTML5 archive — a ZIP archive with HTML5 animation (existing format).
Iframe URL — an external HTTPS address of the banner.
HTML tag — a ready-made HTML snippet provided by an affiliate program.
The format is available to advertisers with the HTML5 permission enabled. If the option is not available, contact your manager.
Creating an iframe banner
Go to the campaign's creatives and click the "Add HTML-banner" button. In the form that opens, select the creative subtype: HTML5 archive / Iframe URL / HTML tag.
"HTML5 archive" subtype
When you select the HTML5 archive subtype, a ZIP archive upload field is displayed.
Fill in the fields:
ZIP archive — upload an archive with the HTML5 banner files. The archive must contain an index.html file in the root directory. Maximum size: 153.6 KB.
Landing URL — the URL of the page the user will be taken to after the click. The domain must match the domain specified in the campaign settings.
Banner size — select a size from the drop-down list. Required field.
Bid — set the bid for this creative.
Material start date / Material stop date — optional.
"Iframe URL" subtype
When you select the Iframe URL subtype, a URL input field is displayed instead of the file upload field.
Fill in the fields:
Iframe URL (HTTPS) — the banner address provided by the affiliate program. Only HTTPS links are allowed; entering an HTTP link causes a validation error.
Banner size — select a size from the drop-down list. Required field.
Bid — set the bid for this creative.
Material start date / Material stop date — optional.
IMPORTANT: the site at the specified URL must allow embedding in an iframe. If the banner provider uses security restrictions, the user's browser will not display the creative. Check the embedding settings with your provider.
"HTML tag" subtype
When you select the HTML tag subtype, a text field for pasting HTML code is displayed.
Fill in the fields:
HTML tag — paste the HTML snippet provided by the affiliate program. As a rule, it looks like
<div>...<iframe src="https://...">...</iframe></div>.Banner size — select a size from the drop-down list. Required field.
All links inside the HTML snippet must be HTTPS. If you copied the code from Google Docs, Word or another editor, the system automatically normalizes extra spaces when saving.
Click tracking and the {click_url} macro
The system tracks clicks automatically using a built-in mechanism. No additional setup is required.
If you want the click to go through the Kadam redirect endpoint (for CPC attribution or postback setup), add the {click_url} macro to your banner URL:
For Iframe URL — add {click_url} as a parameter in the URL:
https://partner.example.com/banner?click={click_url}For HTML tag — insert {click_url} into the href or src attribute inside the snippet.
The macro is optional — clicks are counted in statistics even without it.
Available macros
The following macros can be used in the banner URL or inside the HTML code. The system automatically substitutes the actual values at the time of the impression:
Macro | Description |
| Unique click identifier |
| Ad campaign ID |
| Creative ID |
| Publisher site ID |
| ISO code of the user's country |
| User's city |
| Device type |
| Browser |
| Platform |
| Keywords of the page where the ad is displayed (if the traffic source provides them) |
| Redirect endpoint for CPC attribution |
Saving and moderation
After filling in all the fields, click the "Save" button.
The created creative is automatically sent for moderation and receives the "On moderation" status. Until it passes moderation, the banner does not take part in impressions. After review by a moderator, the creative receives the "Active" status and starts participating in auctions.
Banner preview
After saving, a banner preview is displayed in the material card:
For Iframe URL and HTML tag — an IFRAME or HTML badge is displayed in the materials table. Click the badge to open a preview in the exact banner size (for example, 300×250).
For HTML tag — the "Copy" button lets you copy the entire HTML code to check it in a third-party tool.
FAQ
The preview is empty (grey screen)
The target site prohibits iframe embedding through its security settings. Ask your banner provider to allow embedding.
Clicks are not counted
Make sure the creative has a clickable element and that you are testing in a browser without an ad blocker.
Postback does not arrive
Add the {click_id} macro to the URL inside your banner so that the conversion ID is passed correctly.
No access to the "Iframe URL" or "HTML tag" subtype
The feature is available only with the HTML5 permission enabled. Contact your manager at Kadam.
