Duplicating campaigns (New UI)

Written by Olga

What this section is for

The Duplicate function lets you create a copy of an existing advertising campaign with all its settings, without building a campaign from scratch. When duplicating you can:

  • change the campaign format — copy it from Push to In-Page Push and vice versa;

  • change the pricing model — move the campaign to CPC, CPM or CPA Target;

  • move the copy to another campaign group;

  • automatically copy the creatives of the source campaign.

This is convenient when you need to quickly launch the same campaign in a different format or on a different pricing model while keeping the targeting, limits and other settings of the original.

How to open the duplication form

Go to Personal account / Campaigns / Campaigns. Find the campaign you need in the table and click the three dots under its name — a drop-down menu will open. Select Duplicate.

The Duplicate campaign form will open.

Form fields

The form contains the following fields (fields marked with an asterisk * are required):

  • Campaign name * — the name of the copy. The field is empty by default and must be filled in.

  • Group to move to * — the group the copy will be placed in (for example, My campaigns (18113)). The campaign's current group is filled in by default.

  • Target format * — the format of the copy. Available values: Push and In-Page Push. Lets you copy the campaign into another format (see the “Copying between formats” section).

  • Pricing model * — the pricing model of the copy. Available values: CPC, CPM, CPA Target. Lets you move the campaign to another pricing model (see the “Changing the pricing model” section).

  • Copy creatives — if this checkbox is selected, the creatives of the source campaign will be transferred to the copy.

  • Pause after moderation — if this checkbox is selected, the copy will not start automatically after moderation but will stay paused. This is convenient if you want to check the settings before the start and launch the impressions manually.

After filling in the fields, click the red Duplicate button — a new campaign with the specified parameters will be created.

Copying between the Push and In-Page Push formats

The Push and In-Page Push formats have a similar creative structure, so a campaign in one format can be quickly copied into the other without being recreated.

Steps:

  1. Open the duplication form of the Push or In-Page Push campaign you need (see the section above).

  2. In the Campaign name field, set the name of the copy.

  3. In the Target format field, select the format you want to copy the campaign into:

    • if the source campaign is in Push format — select In-Page Push;

    • if the source campaign is in In-Page Push format — select Push.

  4. If needed, select the “Copy creatives” checkbox to transfer the creatives (see the note below).

  5. Click Duplicate.

Note. When the “Copy creatives” checkbox is selected, the list of creatives available for transfer from a Push campaign also shows creatives of In-Page Push campaigns (and vice versa). This is expected behaviour caused by the shared creative structure of these two formats: Push and In-Page Push creatives are compatible with each other, so they are available for transfer in both directions.

Changing the pricing model

Duplication lets you move a campaign to another pricing model without changing the rest of the settings. This replaces recreating the campaign manually for the model you need.

Steps:

  1. Open the duplication form of the campaign you need.

  2. In the Campaign name field, set the name of the copy.

  3. In the Pricing model field, select the value you need:

    • CPC — payment per click;

    • CPM — payment per 1000 impressions;

    • CPA Target — payment with a target conversion cost.

  4. If needed, select the “Copy creatives” checkbox.

  5. Click Duplicate.

Please note. After changing the pricing model we recommend checking the bids and limits of the copy, because different pricing models use different calculation units (click, impression, conversion). Read more about pricing models in the articles “Creating a CPC campaign”, “Creating a CPM campaign” and “Creating a CPA Target campaign”.

Recommendations

  • Use the “Pause after moderation” checkbox if you want to check the copy before launching it.

  • Give copies clear names (for example, with a format or pricing model suffix) so you don't confuse them with the original in the campaign list.

  • After duplicating, check the targeting, bids and daily limits — they are carried over from the original and may need adjusting for the new format or pricing model.
