Setting up audiences in an advertising campaign
To set up retargeting in an advertising campaign, go to the campaign editing interface (Campaigns → Campaigns → Edit) and find the Audiences block in the targeting section. Here you can configure which audiences your ads will be shown to (or excluded from), set the audience usage logic, and quickly create new audiences without leaving the campaign settings.
Audience collection setting
The Audience collection setting block contains a quick "Create audience" button. Clicking it opens the audience creation form directly from the campaign editor, so you do not have to navigate to the Audiences section.
Audience usage mode
Under the Audience usage mode setting, choose how the system should interpret the list of audiences specified below:
Condition AND — the user must belong to all specified audiences for the ad to be shown.
Condition OR — the user must belong to at least one of the specified audiences for the ad to be shown.
Include and Exclude audiences
Two separate lists are available for managing retargeting:
Include audiences — the ad will be shown only to users who belong to the audiences from this list (subject to the chosen usage mode).
Exclude audiences — the ad will not be shown to users who belong to the audiences from this list. This is useful, for example, to exclude users who have already converted.
Bid for a retargeting campaign
The bid for a retargeting campaign is the same for all region-category intersections.
Track post-view and post-click conversions
The Track post-view and post-click conversions block allows you to configure how conversions are attributed to the retargeting audience when a user has seen or clicked your ad.
Select retargeting audiences
In the Select retargeting audiences field, specify the audiences whose post-view and post-click conversions you want to track. The dropdown shows the audiences available in your account.
Conversion windows
Two conversion windows are available:
Post-View conversion window (hours) — the time interval after an ad impression during which a conversion is still counted as attributed to that impression. Accepted values: 1 to 168 hours.
Post-Click conversion window (hours) — the time interval after an ad click during which a conversion is still counted as attributed to that click. Accepted values: 1 to 168 hours.
Attribution settings
Three additional attribution rules can be enabled with checkboxes:
Post-Click attribution priority — if both a post-view and a post-click event occur within the conversion windows, the conversion is attributed to the click.
Attribute conversions only to the last impression — if a user saw the ad multiple times before converting, only the last impression is credited with the conversion.
Attribute only the first conversion within the conversion window — if a user generates multiple conversions within the conversion window, only the first one is counted.
Managing the audience list
The Audiences section (Campaigns → Audiences) contains all audiences available in your account. The toolbar above the list provides quick access to the main actions:
Refresh (circular arrow icon) — reloads the list to show the latest data.
Columns — opens the column-configuration menu, where you can select which fields are displayed for each audience.
Create audience — opens the audience creation form to add a new audience.
